Old Town in Warsaw
The Main Square of the Old Town in Warsaw was built in late 13th and early 14th century. This is a place which remembers important historical and political events and was almost completely destroyed during the Warsaw Uprising. Completely reconstructed after the war, today it amazes visitors with its beauty. The square is surrounded by townhouses with many gastronomic establishments and at its centre there is a monument of the Warsaw Mermaid. In 1980, the Old Town in Warsaw was entered on the UNESCO world heritage list.
