Unique and amazing rock formations are the greatest attribute of this park.

It is situated in the Malopolska Province. It is made up of the southern part of the Krakow- Czestochowa Uplands, the central section of the Pradnik Valley and part of Saspowska Valley. The park was established in 1956 with an area of nearly 1,571 hectares but currently occupies an area of almost 2,146 hectares (with a buffer zone of 6,777 hectares) and is the smallest National Park in Poland. Forests cover the majority of its area – 1,528 hectares. The landscape of the park is formed by numerous rock formations of late-Jurassic limestone of white and light grey colour. In the Ojcowski National Park are two forms of sculptured terrain – the valleys (ravines, karst valleys and gorges) and the peaks (many limestone cliffs, known as monadnocks, which are dotted about the Jurassic plateau). Inherent in the limestone sculptures of the Krakow-Czestochowa Uplands are the caves. Over 1000 small and large caves have been discovered in the whole Upland area. Tourism in the Ojcowski National Park is restricted only to marked trails. They lead through the most attractive areas of the park where rock formations known as Krakow’s Gate, Hercules’ Club and Deotyma’s Needle can be seen as well as the longest caves – Lokietka (320m) and Ciemna (230m).
